The aquarium was expertly placed by the client in the entrance corridor to separate the imposing minimalist-style hall. The scenic effect is truly of notable impact: during the day the light coming from the numerous windows of the hall passes through it, illuminating the adjacent hallway. Conversely, during the night hours the LED lighting of the aquarium creates a suggestive atmosphere in both adjacent rooms.
The project
Separate two environments with style
Creating decorative aquariums means precisely this: in this case inserting a wall aquarium which is not just a design element but which is actually part of the furniture and fits into it in a functional way.
This wall-mounted aquarium, with a useful volume of over 2500 litres, was made of 50mm thick methacrylate, totally tailor-made. The fully automated filter area was designed to the specific requests and created using numerical control machines. Given the imposing height, two closed-circuit movement pumps of 16000 liters each were included in the design phase to ensure optimal movement of the water in every area inside this column aquarium.
The choice to place a designer aquarium inside an important living room requires particular attention in the study of the infill of the tank. In this case it is totally tailor-made and was created using the same materials chosen for the covering of the living room it overlooks. All the technical compartments of the aquarium can also be easily inspected both by the customer and by our staff during periodic maintenance. Many hours of work have been dedicated to this aspect, taking care of every single detail for this built-in wall aquarium.
Currently there are around 20 fish species included, but with a progressive planned insertion plan which will soon lead to the presence of over 300 fish and at least 50 different corals.
